    Tentative Agreement between the PRJUSD and PRPE 9/24/15

    • New language in bold

    Pursuant to the Tentative Agreement reached on September 24, 2015, the parties agree that the following shall apply for all active employees as of board approval date:

    Article 3: Salary

    • A. The Certificated Salary Schedule:
      • (1) The salary schedule shall be increased by 5.5% retroactive to July 1, 2015 for the 2015-16 school year.
      • (2) In addition, the Salary Schedule shall be increased by 2.5% beginning July 1, 2016 school year for the 2016-17 school year.
      • (3) Include new salary schedule titled, “Salary Schedule Speech Therapist” (see attachment), retroactive to July 2015. Current speech therapist will be placed no higher than 11% greater than their current status, and will be exempt from additional salary schedule increase until 2016-17 school year. Speech Therapist Salary Schedule will increase by 2.5% for the 2016-17 school year.

    Article 4: Health Benefits

    • Health and Welfare Caps:
    • (4) Commencing the 2015-16 school year, the parties agree to increase the Health and Welfare cap to:
      • (a) $10,991 per year.

    ARTICLE 11: SCHOOL CALENDAR/WORK YEAR

    The District and PRPE agree that three additional paid staff development work days led by the District will be added to the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 work year and to the Certificated Salary Schedule and Speech Therapist Salary Schedule. The work year for certificated unit members represented by PRPE shall be 188 days including six paid staff development work days and two additional paid teacher work days, except for first year certificated employees whose work year shall be 193 days. For the 2015-16 school year, Staff development days will be placed on the calendar by the District for February 8, June 13 and one flex day. Employees will be provided a list of flex days that they may choose from. The three additional days for the 2016-17 calendar year will be determined and agreed upon by the Calendar Committee. Certificated classroom absences on student instructional days in excess of seven days for authorized meetings, conferences, in-service, etc., will require Principal authorization. Calendar is to include 180 student instructional days, six staff development days, two pre-service days. Both parties agree that at the conclusion of the 2016-2017 work year, on June 30, 2017, this paragraph will revert back to the following unless negotiated otherwise

    The work year for certificated unit members assigned to grades K-12 shall be 185 days for returning teachers, including three paid staff development work days. The work year for certificated employees in their first full year of service shall be 190 days. Staff development days will be placed in the calendar by the District. Certificated classroom absences on student instructional days in excess of seven days for authorized meetings, conferences, in-service, etc., will require Principal authorization. Calendar is to include 180 student instructional days, three Staff Development Days, two pre-service days.

    Academic & flat stipend positions will be paid ½ on December 10 and ½ on June 10 of that year. Coaches will be paid following the close of their respective seasons and the submission of appropriate paperwork.

    # Paid in one installment at the end of the school year after the LEP count is taken. (prorated based on LEP count divided by # of Site English Language Learner Coordinator .)


    *Athletic Director/Activities Director may receive a period off, as determined by the District.


    Current First Aid and CPR Certificate required for stipends that require staff to perform extra duties after school hours.


    Stipends, when authorized are paid to bargaining unit members who accept extra assignments that require time and effort that extends beyond the normal workday. Employees will perform said extra duties in addition to their regular full time assignment in alignment to job description, including preparation time/period.

     

    Each coach whose team goes to CIF competition following the end of the season shall receive a ten percent (10%) in his/her stipend for each extra week of play (including the athletic trainer).

    Curriculum Rate


    Curriculum Rate: $28.83 $33.00


    Increase in Curriculum Rate to $33.00 an hour. Curriculum rate will not be subject to any percentage salary increase unless bargained by both parties for the 2015-16 school year. This rate will be effective on the date of board approval.
