2007 Health Benefits Information Sheet For Certificated PRPE
Please be aware that health care costs are up 14% with no relief in sight. Our membership surveys indicated that a majority of members wanted little or no payroll deduction. The plans have been modified from 2006-2007 to reflect this request. Your district is now paying $9,194.00 towards your health and welfare benefits. We also negotiated a reduction in your benefit package monthly cost. For the 2007-2008 school year, each employee shall receive a $200 benefit package cost-augmentation based upon savings generated by reduced premiums for dual-insured employees and by the unapplied IRC 125 contributions. If you choose health plan Choice #1 or #2, the augmentation shall be used to reduce the tenthly payroll deduction of the insurance package cost that exceeds the District’s contribution. For employees who opt for Choice #3, the augmentation shall be used to reduce the tenthly payroll deduction to $0 with the unused portion of the $200 to be paid to the employee. Employees who opt for Choice #4 shall receive $200 in lieu of premium payments. These reductions have been factored into your plans already.
Your negotiations team representatives are knowledgeable on these health care plans. If you have any further questions, please contact a team member or the district’s insurance representatives. Team members are: Dan Sharon, Liberty ; Robert Skinner, PRHS; Tim Gearhart, Lewis; Sue Knupper, Flamson; Lisa Tate, Kermit King; Kathleen Saxby, Bauer/Speck; and Brigid Woods, Winifred Pifer.
Please bring your questions to our general meeting after the welcome back breakfast in August. You will be asked to make a decision on your health care choice during the first few weeks of school.

Our health coverage occurs during two calendar years. Employees need to be advised to order by mail all their brand name medicines before October 1, 2007 to avoid reaching the deductible twice in 2007 and 2008. The deductible is $200 individual/$500 family.
